Design and Looks
Fly may project the V 170 DS as a style phone but we disagree. There is nothing stylish about this phone at all. But we will say that the phone is ergonomic and nicely built. It is quite compact and sports similar dimension as the basic DS 100 but it also packs in many features in the same volume. Despite the small size, the phone incorporates a disproportionately small 1.8-inch screen that produces the bare minimum 65K colours. We clearly see that this space could have accommodated a bigger screen. Below the screen we say a nicely laid out controls set. The alphanumeric keys here are terraced to offer nice touch orientation.
Fly also project the V 170 DS as a “multi-utility phone” which offers easy import and export of contacts. This may be of interest to people looking for a phone with good organizing features at a budget price. Other features on the phone include FM radio with wireless play and broadcast recording, an mp3 player with memory expandability, torch mobile tracker and privacy protection. There is also no camera in this phone.
Now, before you cry foul for the lack of camera remember that this is a corporate phone targeted at corporate users who work at places where the use of camera phones is forbidden. This dual-SIM phone also has decent organizing features for a throwaway price, what more could one ask for?
